Henry Terry &
Co. 30-hour shelf clock, 1834-1836. A second example of this model from Mr. Terry & Co., but this one in the
more common larger size, 31.75 inches tall. The mahogany veneer is a bit dark with an old finish and a small repair on the base
at the front right. The stenciling on the columns is faded, the two cornice glasses are original with some losses. The
dial glass is old but probably replaced, the mirror glass is wavy but either a replacement or resilvered. The gilded wooden
dial is clean with some strengthening to the numerals, the hands are correct. The wooden 30-hour time-and-strike movement is
running and striking without issue, driven by two period weights. The label is very dark. There is an embossed pendulum
bob, a crank, door key for the working lock, and new tin dust covers on top. $100–$200.
