241.         $50

E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “The Belle”, ca. 1892.  A model with this name is shown in Ly’s book on Welch clocks but the clock shown here has a different crest and base ornamentation.  The oak case is 28 inches long with an old, clean finish.  The door glass is period, the paper dial worn and toned; the hands are appropriate. The signed 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement doesn’t like running and will need cleaning; it does strike on a cathedral gong and is regulated by a Welch sandwich-glass pendulum.  The remote alarm is not hooked up.  There is a label on the back. $50–$150.
