225.         $200

Chauncey Jerome square keyhole, ca. 1850.  This is the only example I can find of this model, which sold at Skinner’s in 2009 for $950.  The 18.5-inch pine case was probably grain-painted to resemble rosewood, and the bezels still retain some grain painting under a dark finish.  The dial bezel flips up to access the dial. Both glasses are likely original and retain their gilding and black backing; the paint on the metal dial looks original, as do the hands.  The 30-hour time-only movement is unsigned; it is running nicely.  There is a good label inside.  A rare model. $200–$500.
