149.           $200

Seth Thomas “Chime Clock No. 1 Special”, ca. 1911.  A mahogany adamantine finish on a 13.25-inch tall by 15-inch wide cabinet case without chips or nicks.  The porcelain dial has a chip and a hairline crack, barely noticeable; it is signed and “Sonora Chimes” is shown below the slow/fast adjustment.  It plays Westminster chimes on the quarter hours on “four patented resonated bells” and sounds great; it counts the hours on one bell.  There is a flat glass in the brass bezel, and a slide switch just above the ‘6’ on the dial that allows you to turn off the chimes, as well as on the side of the case.  The movement is signed and running, striking on schedule.  AAC sold one in 2020 for $232.  $200-$300.
