Wm. Gilbert Clock Co. “General”, ca. 1891.  The walnut case is 29 inches tall with lots of incising, carvings, and appliques, and a very old, possibly original finish.  The door glass looks to be original with the correct stencil.  The dial is old unsigned paper, very worn, the hands are correct.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on the Gilbert cathedral gong.  There is a high-end Gilbert pendulum included and a label on the back.  Ly, Gilbert Clocks page 329.  AAC sold an oak version in 2022 for $250.  $150-$300.
