Marshall & Adams two-door column & cornice, 1833-1836.  Marshall & Adams worked in Seneca Falls NY producing several models with either wooden works or strap-brass movements.  This example contains a 30-hour wooden movement that is running and striking.  The figured mahogany case is 33 inches tall with carved half-columns flanking the lower door.  There is a proper cornice glass, the original dial glass, and a period or later mirror in the bottom door.  Both ivory escutcheons have working latches and keys.  The wooden dial is clean with gilding and is the typical grey/green color of Marshall and Adams clocks. The hands are period and appropriate.  The wooden 30-hour time-and-strike movement was likely made by the Jeromes and has brass bushings, as advertised on the label.  It is running and striking without issue, driven by two period weights and a period pendulum bob.  There is a good label inside.  Marshall and Adams were prolific during their short time together and many of these attractive clocks still exist; AAC has sold five over the past five years for an average of $243.  $175–$300.
