E & GW Bartholomew
transitional column & splat, 1829-1833. A second example of this model, the most common model that I can find for these
cousins. The clock is 29 inches tall with the period carved pineapple finials and 14 inches wide. There are some veneer
repairs (noticeably, on the front edge of the base) but the bronze stenciling is very good, including on the blocks above and below
the half-columns. Both glasses are original, the attractive tablet with infilling. The dial is clean and bright,
the hands correct. The 30-hour time-and-strike wooden movement runs for a bit, striking without problem. There is
a good label inside, a key and working lock on the right side, and old tin pulley covers on top. The upper portion of the
backboard has been replaced. AAC sold this clock in 2023, before the tablet had been restored, for $500. $350-$500.
