E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Regulator No. 12” ca. 1889.  A 30-day spring-driven regulator in a 65-inch oak case with an old, clean finish.  All the trim carvings are present, with no evidence of repairs or replacements.  The door glass is modern, the painted dial likely original with proper hands, including a seconds bit.  The dial was overcoated some time ago with a varnish and there is some alligatoring evident, but it is not noticeable from a distance.  The 30-day Welch movement is driven by two springs and is running without issue. The gilding on the wood pendulum stick shows wear, as does the large brass pendulum bob.  There is a Welch beat scale behind it.  There is no label.  This is an uncommon clock; AAC sold a No. 12 in 2024 that had some issues for $1200.  $1000–$1500.
