E. Howard &
Co. “No. 95” banjo, ca. 1923-1934. A 40-inch mahogany case with the original glasses and tablets. The lower
tablet depicts the Boston State House and both glasses are in excellent condition. The dial glass is convex, the dial holds
the original paint and is signed, with the original hands. There are two small chips in the dial. The 8-day time-only
movement is signed and running, driven by a proper lead weight and a pendulum bob with an engraved appreciation. Two tin
weight shields and a complete pendulum tie-down. A very nice example that could be improved by polishing the brass bezel
and side-arms. AAC sold a similar example in 2024 for $850. $750–$900.
