Norris North pillar
& scroll, 1822-1824. A 30.5-inch case with the brass center finial. Clean finish, both the scroll-top and feet and
skirt look original. The brass urn finials are on wooden posts. The dial glass is old but with newer putty, the tablet
glass is modern. The dial is likely original, clean with good color, but there are some stains of unknown origin that don’t
clean off. They aren’t terribly noticeable. The hands are period and correct. The 30-hour wooden Torrington (east-west)
movement has been refurbished and will run briefly, and does strike on the iron bell. There are period weights, an embossed
pendulum bob, and a good but dark label inside. AAC sold a similar example with a replaced dial for $350 a year ago. $350–$600.
