Atkins Clock Co. “London”, ca. 1870.  The iconic London with an 8-day time-and-strike movement in a 17-inch rosewood case with lots of patina.  There is one small, old chip on the left mid-side.  The dial glass is period/original, but probably has been rebacked; the mirror is very old and is backed by cardboard; the small glass in the lower door also looks period and may have been rebacked.  The metal dial has been repainted and tea-stained; the hands are correct.  The unsigned 8-day, time-and-strike movement is clean as a whistle and running and striking on a wire gong with a brass base.  There is an outstanding green label inside, the best I have seen; I don’t think it is a reproduction.  This is a very nice example of this popular (then and now) clock.  AAC sold a similar example in 2023 for $250.  $150–$250.
