Atkins Clock Co. “London”, ca. 1870. The
iconic London with an 8-day time-and-strike movement in a very original 16.5-inch rosewood case with lots of patina. It looks
all original: the glasses, the metal dial is period, the hands period (the minute hand repaired), even the matching metal door handles. The unsigned brass movement is running and striking on a wire gong reliably, and there is a very dark but complete label inside. Even an old pendulum bob. Nothing not to like here. The average sale price for this model at AAC is $177. $150–$250.
