201.              $1500

Atkins “Parlor No. 1” with wagon spring, 1850-1858.  Probably made by Atkins, Whiting & Co.  The architecturally interesting case is 17.5 inches tall, veneered in rosewood with no chips to be seen and a great finish; note the ivory door handles.  The dial glass is period and typical, with the dial surround in good condition; the lower mirror is likely original and in good condition.  The metal dial was repainted by The Dial House, the hands are proper replacements although the hour hand is a bit too long.  The 30-day round movement is clean and running, driven by the lever-spring (wagon spring) movement in the base.  The pendulum stick is original; there is part of a label on the back. AAC sold one in 2020 for $1977 and one in 2021 for $1751.  $1500–$2000.
