Bishop & Bradley carved column & splat, 1824-1832.  B&B made almost exclusively pillar & scroll wooden works clocks and, later, Salem Bridge brass movement clocks, but this is the second carved column & splat I have had to offer by these gentlemen (AAC sold a similar example last summer).  The carvings on this 29-inch clock are well done and include claw feet in front and turned feet in back.  Both glasses are old but the dial glass has probably been replaced; the lower glass has several cracks but is stable.  The original tablet was touched up by Tom Moberg.  The wooden dial is clean with some fading; note that the minute markers are inside the numerals, and there is a gilt inner ring.  The hands are period but may not be original.  The 30-hour, time-and-strike wooden movement is running nicely and striking on an iron bell, driven by two period 30-hour weights.  There is a good label inside.  This clock did not have finials.  There is a key and working door latch, as well as a supplemental handle, probably added later.  A nice example.  As noted, AAC sold a similar example last summer for $314; there are no sales records for this model on LiveAuctioneers. $250–$350.
