175. $200
Ansonia Clock Co. “Queen Elizabeth”, ca.
1901. This is the later and most common version of this popular model. The 36-inch oak case has an old, dark
finish; the finials look original. The door glass is period/original, the dial is signed paper, clean but with wear. The
hands are period and correct. The signed 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is running, rather weakly, and striking
on an Ansonia cathedral gong. There is a good label on the back. A possible replaced tailpiece, but it looks
original from the front. AAC sold an oak Queen Elizabeth in 2023 for $272. $200–$300.
