Ansonia Clock Co. “Queen Elizabeth”, ca. 1901. This is the later and
most common version of this popular model. The 37-inch oak case has an old, dark finish; the finials all look correct, although
the half-urns on the crest appear to be replacements. The door glass is period/original, the dial is signed paper, clean but
with wear, and has been touched up. The hands are period and correct. The signed 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement
is running, out of plumb, and striking on an Ansonia cathedral gong. There is a good label on the back. AAC sold an oak
Queen Elizabeth in 2022 for $250. $200–$300.
