Birge & Fuller candlestick double-steeple
with wagon-spring movement, 1844–1848. A gorgeous example of this highly desirable double steeple. The case
is 26 inches tall, veneered in mahogany with no flaws or repairs. The candlesticks look original. The three glasses
are period, the Fenn tablets repainted. The painted, contoured dial is clean with old paint and little chipping; the hands are
period/original. The 8-day, time-and-strike wagon-spring movement is die-stamped Birge & Fuller; I can’t keep it running,
it will strike on the wire gong. There is a good label inside. AAC sold a similar example last summer for $2101. $1800–$2100.
