100. $200
George B. Owen & Co. “Harmony”, ca. 1878. George Owen was General Manager of Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. from 1866–1914. From 1875-1879 he also ran his own business, listing
better-quality parlor clocks like this one. You can also find this clock listed by the Gilbert Clock Co. under this same name. The black walnut case is 22.5 inches tall with an old finish and patina. There are well-done carvings on the top and sides,
as well as burl panels on the front, and a drawer for the key in the base. The door with the cut-glass pattern is original;
the dial is old replaced glossy paper with proper hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is die-stamped ‘Geo B Owen | Winsted
Conn’; it is running nicely and striking on the brass bell on the hours. There is a single barrel pendulum as shown in the catalog
illustration; there is no label. No sales records for this model anywhere that I can find. $200–$400.
