Antique American Clocks July 2021
22. $250
Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 2”, 1878. A second example; the walnut veneer
on the door and bezels has been replaced and is a lighter color than that of the base, which has the original veneer with some cracks. I don’t quite like the color of the new veneer. The finials are modern replacements and have been stained but not finished and
are very dull. Both glasses are old, and the dials are clean; they appear to have been repainted some time ago and there is
some chipping at the screw holes. The signed Seth Thomas movement is marked for the SCCC; it is running and the calendar is
advancing. The roller paper covers are very yellowed. A white label on the door. $300-$400.
