Antique American Clocks July 2021
14. $750
E. Howard & Co. “No. 70 Regulator”, ca. 1900. A 31-inch burled walnut case,
beautifully refinished, with a 12-inch dial. Both glasses are old, the tablet with some scrapes. I would guess the dial
has been repainted, the hands are correct. The signed movement is time-only, 8 days, and is running; however, the weight cable
is too short, and it will need to be replaced for it to run the full 8 days. The weight is proper and numbered “70”. The
lower weight shield is a replacement. The pendulum stick and bob are original, with some damascening left on the bob. No label. This is one of the nicer examples I have seen. This model is currently selling for $750-$1200.
