15.       $500

Seth Thomas “Umbria”, ca. 1894.  A 40-inch oak case with a walnut stain giving it a nice look.  The top finial is correct, the dial glass likely original, the lower glass more likely a replacement.  The painted dial is chipping but clean and may be good for a while yet.  The hands are correct.  The pendulum stick and bob also look correct.  The bottom right part of the base shows evidence of repair but it is not noticeable from the front. The ST type 40 movement is big and sturdy and runs for 15 days on two springs, time-only.  It is running like a champ. The Umbria model has always been a favorite, and relatively common; AAC sold one last winter for $500.  $500-$900.
