50.                   $400

Presentation banjo,ca. 1840.  A 33.5-inch banjo including the solid brass finial on top.  The rope-twist trim around the throat and box were originally gilded but were painted gold long ago, and there are the usual brass sidearms.  All three glasses are old, the tablets likely redone.  The dial glass is flat in a brass bezel; the iron dial holds old paint in reasonable condition, the hands are period/original.  The banjo movement is unsigned, as is usual; it is running without issue.  An old iron banjo weight, a metal weight shield, and a proper pendulum complete the ensemble.  $400-$600.

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6
