Antique American Clocks July 2021
248. $50
Waterbury Clock Co. “Ship’s Bell No. 10”, ca. 1915. The ship’s wheel is 8 inches in diameter, the
silvered dial is 4 inches across and has some light wear. The catalog description says the dial is porcelain, but all the examples
online have silvered dials. The glass is beveled and convex; the minute hand has been repaired. The brass case is tarnished
and scratched in front. I think the walnut base is hand-made, as the catalog illustration does not show a base for this model. The jeweled lever movement is running and the strike sets on the hour and half hour but does not strike. This model typically
sells around $100. $50-$100.
