Antique American Clocks January 2021
85. $250
Vienna two-weight regulator, ca. 1880. There is a logo stamped on the back of the movement
but I can’t identify it. The 52-inch case has an old finish with patina, along with numerous carvings and burl panels; note
the king’s face below the crest. The door glass is newer, the two-part porcelain dial is badly damaged and repaired on the outer
ring and probably should be replaced; note the seconds bit and pierced hands. The weights are a bit banged up. It is running
and striking on the hours and half-hours on a wire gong. $250-$500.
