Antique American Clocks July 2020
3. $875
Wm. Gilbert “Regulator No. 11” ca. 1891. A great walnut case, clean as
a whistle, 49 inches long. The top piece is a well-made replacement that matches the original, the rest of the case original. The door glass and left side-glass are modern, the right side-glass appears original. The yellowed paper dial is signed, the
hands are correct. There are two small brass weights that drive the 8-day, time-only movement, running down each side of the
case. The unsigned brass movement is running steadily. There is no label, and usually isn’t. Horton’s sold a nice
one last summer for $1160. $900-$1200.
