Antique American Clocks January 2020
302. $100
Ansonia “Brass Antique”, ca. 1886. This is a hanging 14-inch brass repoussé plate with porcelain
cartouche numbers and a time-only, double-wind 8-day signed Ansonia lever movement. It is running for short periods, reluctantly,
as the movement is oily and dirty. The hands are brass, should be black, painted white; I’m not sure they are the original hands. I’m also not sure the chain is original. Nonetheless, a very uncommon clock; the only sales record I can find, in the Antique
Clocks Price Guide, was by Horton’s in 2010 for $110. $100-$200.
