Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Double Dial Ceiling”, ca. 1935. This clock is shown on page 330 of Vol. 1, Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements, Tran Duy Ly.  This is the first time I have seen one; it shows the time from both sides and would typically hang in a station or public building where it could be viewed by people coming and going.  The solid oak case is 37.5 inches wide and 19.5 inches tall, with a clean refinished look in golden oak. The two glasses may be original to 1935 or so.  The 14-inch dials are likely original, and one shows some flaking and fading, while the other side is cleaner.  Both are marked Seth Thomas Thirty Day.  One set of hands matches those shown in the catalog photo, while the other set appears to have a replaced minute hand.  I should note that the minute hand positions differ, with one side being about 4 minutes ahead of the other.  This hand does not fit the mount well and it may be correctable.  The movement is type 86A, a double-wind, spring-driven, time-only movement that runs for 30 days.  It is running but I think the pendulum bob is a replacement.  Each side hinges on top and can be opened from the bottom with a winding key; only one side allows access to the pendulum at the bottom.  There are two eyelets on top of the case and two big screw hooks are included, allowing you to mount this on a ceiling or beam; it weighs about 40 lb.  There are no sales of this model on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  $400–$800.
