278. $10
Mauthe musical alarm clock, ca. 1920. A 6-inch nickel and
brass case with two side glasses and a carrying handle. The paper dial is very toned with a German eagle above the handshaft
and “Made in Germany” at the bottom. The four hands look proper. The movement, probably a one-day, winds and
sets, and the music box on the bottom winds and plays when the alarm time is reached. This is a lever-spring movement that
will only run briefly, and will need service I think. The back of the movement bears the Mauthe logo, and a winding key
is included. $10–$50.
