100. $450
Welch, Spring & Co. “Patti No. 1”, ca.
1880. A very popular and beautiful model from Welch; the 19-inch rosewood case has extensive carvings on the corner columns
and ball finials on top. There are two side glasses, likely original, and an original gilded door glass. The dial is new
paper on a new dial pan that does not fit the dial board and may need some adjustment to mount it slightly higher such that it does
not rest on the movement. The hands are not the typical Patti hands but are period and acceptable. The fine Patti 8-day,
time-and-strike movement is oily and will only run for a minute or so, and the strike needs adjustment. There is a proper sandwich
glass pendulum and a good label on the back; the interior back wall is flocked in black. This is a beautiful example that needs
an overhaul to get it in running condition. AAC has sold four Patti’s over the past five years for an average of $700. $450–$600.
