80.              $500

Elisha Manross double-steeple fusee, 1843-1853. A 23.5-inch case with rosewood veneer, a few possible veneer repairs, and four cone finials, all in good condition.  The three glasses are period/original with two well-preserved Fenn tablets.  The metal dial is likely original with old paint; the hands are period/original.  The strap-brass 8-day time-and-strike movement is unsigned, as is typical; it is running and striking as expected on a wire gong.  The springs are located behind the wooden fusee barrels.   There is a good label on the backwall.  Nothing not to like here, one of the most original examples I have had.  AAC has sold three of this model for an average of $621.  $500–$650.
