Black Forest shelf fusee cuckoo,ca. 1890.  A 20-inch cuckoo clock in black walnut with an old finish and modest carvings.  All the trim pieces are present, but one part of the numeral IX is missing from the dial.  The hands are period.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned, with a fusee on the time side.  It is running and the cuckoo is calling on the hours and half hours, and the cathedral gong is counting the hours.  $450–$900.
