New Haven Clock Co. “Anglo American” wall clock, ca. 1860.  The Jerome Co. had a thriving clock export business to England and that continued after the company was absorbed into the NHCC.  This is one of a couple of common models that have found their way back to the US. The 35-inch walnut case has extensive marquetry and an old finish; I see only one spot of missing marquetry, where a door handle might be.  The door glass is old as is the interior mirror.  The dial has been repainted, the hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement bears the New Haven CC logo and is running and striking on the brass bell with a nice tone, regulated by a single barrel pendulum.  There is no label and never was or is.  The marquetry is extensive (note the base), and the inside carvings backed by cloth are nice, making this a desirable clock.  $125–$250.
