206.              $200

Atkins Clock Co. “Round Top Drop”, ca. 1863.  A 24-inch rosewood case with an old, slightly dull finish.  The dial glass looks original, the pendulum glass is period but may be a replacement.  I believe the 12-inch dial has been repainted, with matched period hands.  The 8-day, time-only movement is marked “EH” with some numbers,  and matches the movement found in another example (here) and differs only in the escape wheel from the image shown in Gregory & King, The Clocks of Irenus Atkins, on page 70.  It is running feebly and will likely need service.  There is a dark but readable label inside.  This model is not common; there is but one example in the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide over the last 22 years.  AAC sold an example in 2023 for $348. $200-$350.

BID INCREMENTS

I use the following bid increments to assign the final sale price.  If your winning bid is less than one increment over the second highest bid, you are assessed your full bid amount.

   BID                     INCREMENT

$1-$249                       $0            The bid you place is the price you pay –                                                       no increments applied
$250-$499                   $25
$500-$999                   $50
$1000-$2499               $100
$2500-$4999               $250
$5000-$9999               $500
$10,000 >                    $1000

If you are the only bidder and you bid less than $250, you will pay your full bid amount if you are the winning bidder; if you bid more than $250, you will get the item for $250 or the minimum bid price, whichever is higher.
