204.            $275

New Haven “Thirty Day”, ca. 1900.  This model is not shown in Ly’s book on New Haven clocks; the 30-day, spring-driven, time-only movement bears an 1889 English patent date and an 1892 US patent date.  It may have been an export model.  There is a plaque on the side of the case that states that it belonged to the Westchester Lighting Company, but no location.  The 44-inch oak case has an old finish that may be original.  The glasses are period/original, the dial is very old paper, signed and marked “Thirty Day” with “New Haven USA”.  It has some staining around the center.  The hands are appropriate.  The signed movement is running; it is mounted on a large block and looks to be original to the case.  I can’t exclude the possibility that there were additional workings associated with the movement, as there is easy access from the top, and there are additional holes in the backboard and top board that could accommodate wires, as well as holes in the mounting board.  No label on this clock.  You gotta like the industrial look.  I cannot find any matching models on LiveAuctioneers.  $275–$500.
