Wm L Gilbert Clock Co. “Regulator No. 10”, ca. 1901. A 53-inch solid oak case with a clean polished finish and three glasses, all of which appear to be original.  Note the burl oak or maple panels inside on the backwall and on the back of the base.  The signed Gilbert dial is glossy paper, probably an older replacement, with the proper hands.  Note the seconds bit.  The 8-day, time-only solid brass plate movement is unsigned; it is running feebly and stops after a few hours.  There is a nickel-plated weight to match the nickeled dial bezel.  The pendulum stick and bob are correct and likely original, with some wear to the brass bob.  There is a nickel beat scale on the backwall and a shred of a label on the back.  The No. 10 is less common than the No. 11.  AAC sold one in walnut last year for $500 and Fontaine’s sold an example in oak in 2019 for $750.  $500–$750.
