Gilbert Clock Co. “No. 3036” calendar advertiser,ca. 1913.  The label on the back of this clock gives the model name, but I can find no examples of this model on LiveAuctioneers or in the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, nor in Ly’s book on Gilbert clocks.  I suspect that this model was used for advertiser clocks, as found here for Calumet Baking Powder.  The clock closely resembles the University or Washington models, and is 38 inches long in oak with a cleaned but still slightly crusty finish.  Both glasses are period and the advertising tablet original; I have not seen this tablet before.  The 12-inch dial is signed paper with the Gilbert logo and considerable wear. The three hands are correct and period/original.  The 8-day time and calendar movement is unsigned with nickel plates; this movement is found in other Gilbert store clocks.  It is running strongly with a proper Gilbert pendulum and the calendar hand is advancing. As noted, there is a label on the back.  $150–$300.
