Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 2 Regulator”, 1869-1890. A weight-driven wall calendar, 46 inches tall in a walnut case with an old finish and light patina; note the window at the bottom to view the pendulum bob. The center finial is missing its tip, the glasses are modern. The paper dials are old and show some wear and discoloration; the calendar dial bears the ICCC logo and “Horton’s patent” information. The hands are Welch hands, consistent with the Welch-made 8-day, two-weight, time-only movement. The movement is faintly stamped “Welch Spring Co, Bristol Conn US” at the bottom of the movement. Note the two flat weights that run in channels on each side of the case; the clock is running and the calendars are advancing. The interior is stamped No. 2062, the production number, but no date is given. There is a dark and degraded label on the lower backwall with instructions for use. Fontaine’s sold two examples in 2024 for$900 and $950. $750–$1000.
