156.                $350

National Calendar Clock Co. “Column Calendar Clock”, ca. 1890.  A 27-inch case that was grain-painted to resemble rosewood.  This example retains most of that grain-painting on the front, sides, and dial board, with little wear.  The columns retain the marbling with gilded capitals and plinths, with considerable wear.  The door glass is modern.  The metal dials are black enamel with gold numbering, with some reinforcement.  The hands are brass.  The 8-day time-and-strike brass movement was made by New Haven and so labeled; it is running and striking on a cathedral gong.  There is a simple calendar on the lower dial, connected by a wire to the upper movement; it is advancing as expected.  There is no label.  A very good example.  Morphy sold one in 2022 for $450. $350–$500.
