Terry & Andrews gothic iron case with MOP, 1842-1850. A 15.5-inch cast iron case with extensive MOP, gilding, and painted flowers on the front.  The color retention is very good, with little wear, and virtually no loss of the small MOP decorations on the outside edge.  Note that the right back corner of the case has broken off.  Both glasses appear to be replacements and the porthole bezel is as well.  The dial paint is old, possibly original, with light fading and discoloration, and chipping around three hands arbor.  The hands are proper but a slight mismatch.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong.  There is a nearly illegible dark label inside, but the maker’s names can be barely made out.  An old embossed pendulum bob.  This is a very nice example; AAC sold this clock in 2022 for $165.  $125–$175.
