148.             $200

Terry & Andrews gilt paper mâché shelf clock with MOP, 1842-1850.  A 15.5-inch black case with gilt decorations on the front edge and door frame, including mother of pearl and painted flowers – one of the best-preserved decorated cases I have seen.  The dial glass is period/original, the lower glass a modern replacement, not quite to my liking.  The contoured metal dial has been repainted and the hands are period and proper. The large lyre-shaped 8-day movement is typical of this duo and is signed, running and striking.  There is an alarm hooked up but not tested, and a good label inside.  From the Dave Clark collection in Lexington, KY, one of the cofounders of the Thoroughbreds chapter of the NAWCC with my mentor, Carroll Horton.  $200–$400.
