141.              $100

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “No. 820”, 1892. You won’t find this model on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, but it is shown in Ly’s Vol. 2 of Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements on page 732.  The wood is called “Royal” in the catalog description, but I can’t find a definition of that.  The wood has been pressed into patterns, much like you find on “kitchen” clocks, but the pressings are shallower and lighter in color.  The underlying wood looks like walnut but probably is not.  The case is 10.5 inches tall and 15.5 inches wide with a clean finish.  The brass bezel holds a flat glass over an old glossy paper dial with some toning.  The hands are ST issue.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong on the hours and half-hours.  The back cover has ST impressed; I see no label.  A rare model.  $100–$250.
