139.             $100

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Chime Clock No. 5”, ca. 1914. A 14-inch adamantine case in excellent condition.  The silvered dial shows some wear and sits behind a beveled, convex glass; the bezel does not latch.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and will run for a short while, needing adjustment to put it into beat.  The chime movement is not willing to run; it strikes on four bells, and it counts the hours on all four bells.  The hour strike is also stuck.  You’ll need some patience with this clock to get it functioning properly.  No label.  $100–$200.
