Jerome & Co. “Diadem”, ca. 1852.  This clock has a Jerome & Co. New Haven label, but a movement marked New Haven Clock Co.  Jerome was not affiliated with NHCC until his firm went bankrupt in 1855; prior to that J&C purchased movements from NHCC, likely as found here.  This model can be found in NHCC catalogs and on page 300 of Ly’s book on New Haven clocks.  It stands 18 inches tall with mahogany veneer on the front and grain-painted sides and base.  The finials are incorrect replacements; the glass is New Haven, featuring a blue heron in the middle. The contoured metal dial is likely original with some fading, the minute hand an acceptable replacement.  The small 30-hour, time-only movement is running strongly, regulated by a shiny single barrel pendulum.  There is a good label inside.  A cute little clock.  $25–$100.
