Jerome & Co. gilt cottage, ca. 1860.  A 12-inch case with good rosewood veneer and a glossy finish.  The gilding around the door has been replaced; both glasses are likely original, with the gilt pattern on the lower glass original.  The flat dial holds the original paint, the hands are mismatches.  The 30-hour time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is running and striking on a wire gong.  There is a label inside but the maker’s name is mostly obscured by the gong base.  $25–$75.
