132. $50
Jerome & Co. octagon-top cottage, ca. 1860. A
16-inch shelf clock with clean rosewood veneer with a couple of nicks and a light patina. Both glasses are original with their
gutta percha inserts and a lovely pastoral image of two girls, sheep, and a boater lurking offshore. The flat metal dial has
been repainted, the hands are period and appropriate, and the unsigned 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on
a wire gong. Dark, patterned wallpaper inside and a card label on the back of the door, “Pendulum Clocks”. Nothing not
to like here. $50–$150.
