130.             $50

Jerome & Co. gutta percha cottage, ca. 1860.  A 16-inch cottage shelf clock in rosewood with black or ebonized trim edges.  The glasses are old with two gutta percha inserts and an oval Wedgewood pattern in the tablet.  The painted metal dial is likely original, the hands are interesting but not typical.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement was made by Noah Pomeroy and is so marked; it is running and striking a wire gong.  There is an alarm hooked up but not tested.  The lower interior of the case is wallpapered, there is a good label on the back of the door.  These are attractive little clocks that don’t cost much.   $50-$100.
