Seth Thomas “Arch Top”, 1884.   A 15.5-inch-tall case with walnut veneer, including burled walnut on the feet, no chips missing pieces or repairs, and a clean finish. The door glass is period.  The dial has been recovered many years ago with a paper dial that is now worn and discolored. The hands are Seth Thomas.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed but I can’t keep it running,  and it may need professional care.  It does strike on a wire gong, there is a good label inside, and a date stamp on the back.  Always a popular model; AAC sold one in 2023 for $200.
