113. $150
Atkins Clock Co. “Cowper”, ca. 1878. A rare
model; there are no sales records on LiveAuctioneers or the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide. It is shown in Gregory
& King, The Clocks of Irenus Atkins, on page 88. The mahogany case is 22.5 inches tall with the finials, which look correct. The door glass looks original, the silver stencil is in good condition; the paper dial is unsigned and very yellowed and worn. The hands are period-correct but modern replacements. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is running and striking
on a brass bell, regulated by a single barrel pendulum. The interior is papered and there is a good label on the back. $150–$300.
