105. $50
Waterbury Clock Co. 30-hour steeple, ca. 1880. A 19.5-inch steeple with mahogany veneer and a clean finish and one repair on the right front, opposite the dial; good finials. Both glasses appear to be modern but the tablet, entitled “Washington was a Surveyor” looks period, although the grass has been repainted
and the image rebacked. The upper door-hinge is a bit wobbly. The dial is aluminum, the hands appropriate but modern. The 30-hour time-and-strike brass movement is unsigned; it is running and striking on a wire gong as expected. A Waterbury pendulum
bob and signed key, and a good label. I like the image. $50–$100.
