Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Column”, ca. 1870.  This miniature empire clock is 16 inches tall with good rosewood veneer all around, and a clean finish.  The dial glass and porthole glass are period/original, the mirror a modern replacement.  The flat dial has a glossy paper cover, the hands are “ST” hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is spring-driven, signed Plymouth Conn; it is running and striking on a wire.  There is a yellowed and stained Thomaston label inside.  A classic model.  $100–$200.
